Orientation Dates

The Office of First-Year Experience will host Orientation sessions for Spring 2017 students in November (transfer students only) and January. Registration opens on October 3. Summer 2017 and Fall 2017 students may attend Orientation from early June through mid-July, as well as in April (transfer students only) and August. Summer and fall Orientation registration opens on February 1.

Date availability is determined by a student’s major and the capacity of advising units on given days. Spaces for specific majors are limited to guarantee the highest quality of academic advising and enrollment experience. For the most accurate list of dates available, please begin the registration process. The registration system will only show you dates available for your major. Please contact the Office of First-Year Experience with questions about the registration process.

Orientation Schedule

During orientation, students will learn more about KU academics, learning experiences, and campus life. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend as well. While students attend their academic advising appointment and enroll in classes, parents and family members will attend separate sessions to learn about life on campus, safety and wellness in college, and strategies for supporting their student's academic success. An example of the schedule may be found below. Exact sessions, times, and content are subject to change. All students must be present from 8:00 a.m - 5 p.m. and attend all sessions in order to enroll in classes.
