Orientation Assistants

Orientation Assistants (OA) are selected to lead incoming students through their academic, social and personal transition to the University of Kansas. OAs are responsible for providing information about student life, involvement opportunities, services, facilities and procedures. They connect students with first-year programs, including first-year seminars, UNIV 101, learning communities and other opportunities designed to challenge and support first-year students. Orientation Assistants lead orientation programs and Hawk Week; serve as mentors to the learning communities; and participate in KU Common Book programming and Office First-Year Experience events. Orientation Assistants’ most important responsibility is to build relationships and help students discover, engage and belong at the University of Kansas.
