Super Service Saturday

Fri, 2017-07-21 15:07 -- Cornelius U-Jea...
Start Date:
Saturday, August 26, 2017 - 11:00am
End Date:
Saturday, August 26, 2017 - 2:30pm
Ballroom, Kansas Union

Super Service Saturday is a one-day volunteer event. While engaging in volunteer opportunities through the Center for Community Outreach (CCO), new KU students will discover community agencies throughout the KU and Lawrence community. Our hope is that students will connect with each other at lunch in the Kansas Union Ballroom and at their site visits in the afternoon, so they feel they truly belong on campus throughout their KU experience.

Students will arrive in the Ballroom around 11 AM and have time to eat lunch and select their service destination. We expect to place 600-700 students at more than 20 different service sites. All volunteers will be given CCO t-shirts to designate them as KU service ambassadors while in the community. Transportation to and from these sites will be coordinated through KU on Wheels. We expect students to return to the Union from their sites by 2:30 PM, as volunteering ends at around 2:00 PM.
