"My first year in college was a roller coaster of emotions and growth. I had never been away from my family for an extended period of time, and, even though I was an hour from home, living on campus was difficult to adjust to. However the support I found from the staff on campus and the spirit of my classmates made me feel more at home and deepened my passion to be involved on campus. I learned how to advocate for myself, and the relationships I built with my peers and mentors drove me to pursue a career helping other students in their transition to college."
