KU Common Book Nomination Form

Programmatic goals:

  • Build community among faculty, staff, and students
  • Create a shared academic experience for first-year students
  • Encourage intellectual engagement through reading and discussion

Selection criteria:

  • Intellectually stimulating and promotes conversation
  • Lends itself to a variety of programming opportunities
  • Potential for classroom use within various departments and disciplines
  • Available as a paperback or e-book

The review on nominated books takes place from approximately November 15th to March 15th.  Book nominations received by November 1st will be considered for the following academic year.  Books nominated after November 1st will remain in the pool for the next review process.
