UNIV 101 Instructor Professional Development Fund

Eligibility and Award Guidelines

Full-time staff members that have taught UNIV 101 during the 2017-2018 academic year are eligible for the fund.

UNIV 101 instructor applicants must attend a national or regional meeting of a professional organization or participate in a scholarly endeavor that directly benefits teaching and work at the University. The application requires an explanation of how the conference, meeting, or event will benefit the applicant's teaching and work and how this will be shared with the campus community.

Funds of up to $500 can be used for domestic travel expenses, lodging, and conference registration, pending availability. Funds are transferred to the applicant’s home department prior to travel. Allocations are limited to one per applicant per year.

Awards will be processed on a routine basis, first-come/first-served until funds are exhausted. Professional development funds must be used within the fiscal year of application.  Applications must be completed and submitted at least 30 days in advance of expected departure. Late applications, with letter of explanation attached, will only be considered if serious extenuating circumstances made it impossible to comply with due dates.
